Final Year Project
Project Title
Rescue Robotics
Description
Predicting natural disaster occurrence, especially earth quakes is still a remarkably difficult task. In case of natural or artificial disasters, the window to save human lives is very short. Our capstone design project is on the design of an Autonomous Rescue Robot that can navigate through collapsed buildings, rubble and other disaster sites to look for signs of life and alert nearby authorities and response centres of the exact location of the disaster victims. The robot develops a real time traversal map of the disaster site and can work in low light conditions as well. This is a joint project with Laiba Zahid and Syed Hasnain Raza.
